The 4 questions I ask every camp
I talk to a lot of camps. Directors, owners, and whoever ended up running the email because nobody else would.
These are some of the first questions I ask:
How many people are on your email list?
What happens automatically when a family is interested in camp and gives their info?
How did your registration push go? What were the 5 to 7 emails you sent getting families to sign up?
How often do you send stories about what's happening with kids at camp, just because?
And here are the answers I get, pretty much every time:
Our list is in the 1000s.
We send one follow-up with a brochure. OR we have a few emails someone wrote 6 years ago. OR nothing.
We sent one reminder.
We don't send those.
(If you nodded along to 3 of those 4, you're in very good company.)
I get it. All of that is a lot.
A good welcome journey for a new family takes real time to write.
It's hard to know what a registration series (let's just call it a sales series) should look like, how it builds, and how it lands on specific dates.
And staying consistent with camp stories while a million other things are happening at camp is tough.
Again, I get it.
The problem is that when none of that is in place, it's much harder to move a family toward what you want them to do. Which is signing up for camp.
And it's usually one person in the family making that call. That person needs a lot of reminders. A lot of reasons. They need to feel great about the decision before they make it. The only way to get them there is to give them every good piece of information you've got, in a way they'll actually read, more than once.
Meanwhile, the thousands of people on your list all raised their hand at some point. Most of them are just sitting there, not hearing from you.
That's what we build in Write For Camp.
4 live sessions starting October 12, 2 hours each, plus a 1-hour 1:1 for your camp (about 5 weeks total)
Bring up to 3 people from your camp team. You're buying a seat for your camp, so everyone can get on the same page.
Writing for the internet, so families actually read what you send
Planning, writing, and automating your welcome journey
Writing your first sales sequence, the one that takes families from "maybe" to registered
A 1-hour 1:1 call for your camp to review what you have, build what's missing, and sort out logistics
It's $999. This link takes $100 off automatically through this Friday, 9/25, at midnight.
One family signing up off a list you already have and this pays for itself.
Details are at writeforcamp.com where you'll find everything. That's including Jack explaining the whole thing while walking through a tunnel at camp.
Consider this the camp email starter pack. You'll have better answers to all of those questions.
