Why Jack's In This

Camp changed my life. Not because it was perfect, far from it. It was sweaty, unscripted, messy. But it was real.
It showed me what a community can be when it works. It also showed me what it isn’t when leadership is unprepared, staff turnover high, vision fuzzy. That gap is what drove me to make this my work.

These days Jack owns and runs Camps Kenwood & Evergreen in New Hampshire. He just wrapped his first summer as an owner.

Why Doug's In This

Doug Norrie is a narrative strategist and ghostwriter, which is a fancy way of saying he writes the things camps need written.

He writes weekly parent-facing communication for a roster of day and overnight camps around the country. This year that work went out to more than 100,000 camp families and camp professionals.

He also writes Write From Camp three times a week, covering marketing, sales, and messaging for camp pros. He worked at camp from ages 16 to 22 and never really got over it.

One of us runs a camp every day. One of us writes for camps all over the country.

Jack lives the operator problems: staffing, enrollment, budgets, parents, all of it. Doug sees what's working in messaging across dozens of camps at once. When we teach something here, it has been tried at a real camp first.
